During the fourth annual Hispanicize conference, PRODU spoke with Borja Pérez, Senior VP of Digital and Social Media at Telemundo, who attended the event as a guest panelist.“Hispanicize has been a good platform for us, because it gives us the opportunity to connect for three or four days with the blogger community and small entities that stay active in social media,” said Pérez.“As always, the conference was structured well, but there might be too much content for so few days, and good discussion panels that occur simultaneously, preventing you from attending everything,” he added.Telemundo has invested in digital resources, and through its partnership with Youtube and Google, has become a web novela pioneer with Secreteando, series that has done well for the network.“Google’s role today is key. No matter how good your content is, if your audience can’t find you on Google, it is worthless. We work closely with them to learn how we can optimize our content and make easier to find,” added Pérez.“Similarly, we work closely with Youtube. We have a distribution relationship with them; on projects like Secreteando, where they partner with us to offer a platform, whether Youtube or Google Plus Hangout, to help connect our content with our audience,” he added.
